These are all with a 10" LX200GPS. For the first time I managed to get the color and guiding working. The biggest secret was that i needed to reduce the focal length to get things going. I ended up using my little WebCam focal reducer to get it to about F3. While the reducer is great for the price, it is not exactly the best optics. I noticed when focusing that something is not in alignment since when using it it looks like columniation is way out of whack. (Noticed when focusing.) I think this may also be producing the funny hook trails in some of the stars and the color distortions. I also noticed some vignetting in the fields. In any case, here are the pictures! This first one is the best of the night. M51. It is a stack of 6 10 min exposures. I was using the Star 2000 for guiding so it effectively halves the exposure time.
This one is a 10 min exposure of M66. Again Star2K was used.
About 2:30 am I was going to pack up, but I figured one more shot would be good so I grabbed this one of M3. Again a 10 min exposure with Star2K.
