I was going to make my Apple Crisp, but I hate peeling
apples. Blueberries not only taste great, but they come in easy frozen
packages with no need to prep them!. Hence I came up with this modification.
Gather the following:
2 liter casserole pan/dish with lid.
Mixing bowl
24 Oz Blueberries. (Frozen OK)
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 3/4 Cup Oatmeal
2 Tablespoon Flour
3 Tablespoon Sugar or Splenda
~1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
2 Tablespoon Cooking oil
Preparation:
-
Preheat oven to 380
-
Put Blueberries in casserole dish and melt in Microwave if
needed. (Can leave a little hard/frozen for mixing.
-
To the Blueberries add:
3 Tablespoons Sugar or Splenda
2 Tablespoon Flour
1 Cup Oatmeal
1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
-
Gently mix the concoction so that the blueberries are not
mushed.
-
In mixing bowl combine
3/4 Cup Oatmeal
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
-
Distribute mixture over top of blueberry mix.
-
Add a little oil over top of mixture to wet it down a
little. (2 tablespoon or so)
-
Bake at 380 for about 1 hour.
-
Let cool.
Notes:
This usually tastes better after it has cooled or the next day
when the flavors
have melded.
