I was going to make my Apple Crisp, but I hate peeling apples.  Blueberries not only taste great, but they come in easy frozen packages with no need to prep them!. Hence I came up with this modification.

Gather the following:

bullet

2 liter casserole pan/dish with lid.

bullet

Mixing bowl

bullet

24 Oz Blueberries. (Frozen OK)

bullet

1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

bullet

1 3/4  Cup Oatmeal

bullet

2 Tablespoon Flour

bullet

3 Tablespoon Sugar or Splenda

bullet

~1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

bullet

Cinnamon

bullet

Nutmeg

bullet

 2 Tablespoon Cooking oil

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 380

  2. Put Blueberries in casserole dish and melt in Microwave if needed. (Can leave a little hard/frozen for mixing.

  3. To the Blueberries add:

bullet

3 Tablespoons Sugar or Splenda

bullet

2 Tablespoon Flour

bullet

1 Cup Oatmeal

bullet

1 Teaspoon Nutmeg

bullet

2 Teaspoon Cinnamon

bullet

1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar

bullet

1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

  1. Gently mix the concoction so that the blueberries are not mushed.

  2.  In mixing bowl combine

bullet

3/4 Cup Oatmeal

bullet

1/3 Cup Brown Sugar

bullet

1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

  1. Distribute mixture over top of blueberry mix.

  2. Add a little oil over top of mixture to wet it down a little. (2 tablespoon or so)

  3. Bake at 380 for about 1 hour.

  4. Let cool.

Notes:

bullet

This usually tastes better after it has cooled or the next day when the flavors have melded.
